Selling the dark
Why a hotel in Nordland stopped apologising for winter, and what a room needs when the sun never rises.
Where it started
Every project begins the same way: I stand where the audience will stand and write down what they can see. Most of the design is deciding what to take away from that view.
What changed
The frame started as a practical thing, a way to tell a crowd where to look. Now it is the first thing I draw. It gives a place an edge, and an edge makes people curious about the other side.
